Spoonflower Fabric Fun

I've been enjoying designing some fabrics for Spoonflower.com. I've been wanting to do this for so long. If you're not familiar with it you should check it out! Awesome creative and supportive community on there making and selling custom designed art fabrics. They also use eco friendly printing techniques and offer organic fabrics too. After I've made a bunch more designs I'll pick some favourites, order some samples and then make some available for sale, as well as order some to make some handmade items.

Finished Blackberry necklace

Click to see bigger Title:"Weeds and Vermin" Materials:Copper, enamel paint, mixed media. Every part of it I made out of copper except the blackberries and the mouse which are plastic. It makes a pleasant metallic jingling sound when worn. It is currently in the display cabinet at RMIT university gold & silversmithing department if you wanna see it in real life.

Radical thoughts and leafy beginnings

I'm working on a necklace at the moment, inspired by my local area and feelings about introduced species and plants. It's very sad that there have been things brought here by humans that have upset the balance of the eco system. It breaks my heart in fact. BUT they are living things that have as much right to life as anything else, it wasn't their choice. We're introduced species too remember. I am perfectly happy to share my living space with any little animals that seek shelter here. Also just appreciating the simple beauty of so called "weeds and vermin".
